Bearing up

A circle of people with empty hands and
aching chests feeling all we have
is not enough

because
we experience ourselves
as eternal
and everything else
as temporal

it's easy to forget
we pass through
wefted
not strained

fruited and rooted
in our frail medium
the shelter of each other

Thoughts and Comments

Life is sorrow. My beloved's mother was dealing with possible cancer. Another dear friend lost an aunt in a bus accident in the Philippines. There is nothing to say at such times, and yet, something must be said.

I wrote this for them.
