wheresoever you go, there also go I

I turn away
again.

But like a Moebius strip, I'm always
on the same side.
Coming
face to face with you,
again.

I'm trying to hide from you in a
house of mirrors;
you surround me.

I'm going the wrong direction
Shooting north
on the freeway while
you sleep
near southern palms.

Following the California Aqueduct,
mirrored serpent under moon,
I slide back
toward you.

To follow your footsteps,
water                         (and I)
would race
uphill.
