Sparkle!

Unfrozen dancer
on the mere,

steel blades
uncaring, swoops on
frailty.

Her booted
feet trace patterns.

Soaring velvet
pirouettes; ripple-winds
fragment

her thoughts. Poised
on the brink

of desire, child-dreams
flirt
in her eyes.

A stolen kiss; shared,
forgiven,

remembered,
on breathless
                          lips.

Thoughts and Comments

Published in The Pacifican sometime in the spring of 1987, February, I think. I don't have the clipping anymore. This version is a revision of the published version.
